Nature
If you've got access to a car, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a half-hour drive south of the convention center, with 33,000 acres of national park to explore for free. Gorgeous hiking trails, rock formations, waterfalls, bike trails, a scenic train ride (extra cost) and a covered bridge - along with some really interesting history. Alternatively head a half-hour east to take a canopy walk at the Holden Arboretum. Don't have a car? Take a city bus to the newly updated Cleveland Museum of Natural History which has some stunning indoor displays as well as a super cute outdoor area of local flora and fauna (including coyotes, raccoons, fox, porcupines); and/or the nearby Cleveland Botanical Garden - both are in the cluster of museums in the University Circle area of Cleveland. Or take the trolley to Edgewater Park/Beach (18 minutes away) to walk along the shoreline, take a swim, and enjoy the warm summer sand. |
