COVID-19 policies and information
The American Society of Naturalists, the Society for the Study of Evolution, and the Society of Systematic Biologists are dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of all attendees of our joint annual meeting. Our 2023 meeting is currently planned in two parts, with a 2-day virtual conference (June 2 & 3) followed 2.5 weeks later by the standard in-person conference (June 21-25) in Albuquerque, NM.
Vaccination requirement. All attendees of the in-person Evolution 2023 meeting are required to be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines according to CDC guidelines. Note that this includes both a completed COVID-19 vaccine primary series and the most recent booster recommended by the U.S. CDC.
Mask policy. Although attendees may choose to mask, including while delivering a talk, there is not currently a plan to require masks. This could change, however, as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and governmental and health agency recommendations. We will update this page to share any information or policy changes as we get closer to the meeting dates.
